Cross-Currency Matching
List in your preferred currency. The bot finds matches across BTC, USD, and XCP automatically.
The Problem
You list a WTS (want to sell) at $100 USD. Someone else posts a WTB (want to buy) at 0.00169 BTC. At current exchange rates, those prices are equivalent — but without cross-currency matching, these two listings would never find each other.
The cross-currency matching engine solves this by normalizing all listing prices to a common USD equivalent and matching compatible WTS/WTB pairs automatically.
How It Works
Price Normalization
Every listing price is converted to a USD equivalent using live exchange rates from the CounterTools API.
Tolerance Matching
A WTS and WTB for the same asset match if their USD-equivalent prices are within 5% of each other.
Notification
Both parties receive a DM with the match details, including the exchange rate used and USD equivalent prices.
Rate Re-Verification
When you tap Accept, the bot re-checks the exchange rate. If rates have drifted beyond tolerance since the match was found, you'll be notified.
Supported Currencies
Cross-currency matching works across all three listing currencies:
₿
BTC
Bitcoin
$
USD
US Dollar
Ⓡ
XCP
Counterparty
All six pairs are supported: BTC↔USD, BTC↔XCP, USD↔XCP, and the reverse of each.
What You'll See
When a cross-currency match is found, you'll receive a DM like this:
Cross-Currency Match Found!
Asset: RAREPEPE
Their WTB: 0.00169 BTC ($100.14 USD)
Your WTS: $100.00 USD
Difference: 0.14% (within 5% tolerance)
Rate: 1 BTC = $59,260.00
[Accept] [Decline]
The 5% Tolerance
A 5% tolerance accounts for minor exchange rate fluctuations and the natural bid-ask spread. A WTS at $100 will match a WTB valued at $95-$105 equivalent.
If you want exact-price matching only, the regular same-currency matcher still runs independently — cross-currency matching is additive.
Scheduler
The cross-currency matcher runs every 15 minutes as a background scheduler. It scans all active listings for new cross-currency match opportunities. You don't need to do anything — just create your listing in whatever currency you prefer.
Opt Out
If you don't want cross-currency match notifications:
/settings
Toggle "Cross-Currency Notifications" off
This only affects notifications — your listings remain visible to other users who have cross-currency matching enabled.
Tips
- List in whatever currency you're most comfortable with — the bot handles the rest
- BTC-priced listings can reach USD buyers, and vice versa — you're no longer limited to one audience
- If you accept a match, the trade proceeds at the agreed prices in the original currencies
- Exchange rates are pulled live from the CounterTools API at both match-time and accept-time
