Understanding Discovery Commands

CounterTrader offers five powerful discovery commands, each designed for a different trading strategy. Understanding when to use each one is key to finding the best opportunities.

/hot vs /trending: What's the Difference?

/hot - Composite Score

Balances activity with value. An asset needs both trading frequency AND meaningful volume to rank high.

40% Activity (trade count)
30% Volume (USD value)
20% Momentum (price direction)
10% Recency (recent trades)

/trending - Pure Sales

Simple sales count ranking. Low-value, high-frequency assets can dominate. Good for spotting retail activity.

100% Sales count only
Common leaders: PEPECASH, FAKEASF, common cards

When to Use Each:

🔥 /hot when looking for valuable opportunities with real momentum
📈 /trending when tracking retail activity or high-volume commons

Understanding Momentum Scores

The /hot command displays a momentum score (0-100) for each asset. Here's how to interpret it:

90+ Elite

Top-tier momentum, heavy activity from smart money

70-89 Strong

Significant momentum, worth watching closely

50-69 Moderate

Building momentum, early opportunity signals

<50 Early

Early signals, may be emerging or cooling down

40% activity + 30% volume + 20% momentum + 10% recency

Sales Alerts (Premium)

Get real-time notifications when watched assets sell. Never miss a flip opportunity.

How to Enable:

  1. 1. Use /sold ASSETNAME to view sales
  2. 2. Click the 🔔 button to enable alerts
  3. 3. Receive notifications when the asset sells

Alert Information:

  • • Sale price in USD and native currency
  • • Source: Dispenser, DEX order, or OpenSea
  • • Buyer and seller addresses
  • • Quick disable button on each alert

Discovery commands include quick action buttons for the top asset, allowing you to act immediately:

Navigation buttons at the bottom let you switch between /hot, /trending, and /whales without typing new commands.

Trading Strategies

🎯 Momentum Trading

Use /hot to find assets with strong momentum scores (70+). Check /sold to verify recent sales velocity. Enter early on rising momentum, exit when score plateaus.

Commands: /hot → /sold ASSET → /ob ASSET

🐋 Whale Watching

Monitor /whales for big player activity. When whales accumulate, follow their lead. Premium users can see buy/sell ratios to detect accumulation vs distribution.

Commands: /whales → /hot (for their assets)

📊 Price Action

Use /movers to spot extreme moves. Assets with 20%+ gains may be overbought. Losers with 20%+ drops may be oversold. Cross-reference with /hot for conviction.

Commands: /movers → /hot → /ob ASSET

🔔 Sniper Alerts

Set sales alerts on assets you want to flip. When a sale comes in below your target, you'll be notified instantly. Use /ob to see current market depth before acting.

Commands: /sold ASSET → 🔔 button → Wait for alert
