Common issues and how to resolve them.

Wallet Connection Issues

"Signature verification failed"

The signature doesn't match the address or message.

Solutions:

  • • Make sure you're signing with the exact address you entered
  • • Copy the verification message exactly (no extra spaces)
  • • For bc1 (native SegWit) addresses, some older wallets can't sign — try a different wallet

"This address is already linked to your account"

You've already connected this wallet.

Use /wallet to see your connected wallets.

"This address is linked to another account"

Someone else already connected this wallet.

Contact @SamadhiSpeaks to transfer it.

"Wallet limit reached"

Free users can connect 1 wallet.

Solutions: /disconnect ADDRESS or get COUNTERTRADR for unlimited.

"Invalid address format"

The address doesn't match Bitcoin or Ethereum format.

Valid formats: Bitcoin: 1..., 3..., bc1... • Ethereum: 0x... (42 chars)

Listing Problems

"WTS/WTB listing limit reached"

Free limits: 50 WTS, 100 WTB

Solutions:

  • • Cancel some: /myasks or /mybids
  • • Use /cancelall to clear all
  • • Get COUNTERTRADR for unlimited

"Asset not found"

The asset name doesn't exist or is misspelled.

Solutions:

  • • Check spelling (case-insensitive)
  • • Use /search PARTIAL to find correct name
  • • Verify on Tokenscan

"Invalid price format"

Price wasn't recognized.

Valid formats:

  • • USD: 100, $100, 100.50
  • • BTC: 0.01BTC, 0.01 BTC
  • • XCP: 50XCP, 50 XCP

"/cancel ID not found"

Listing ID doesn't match or already cancelled.

Solutions:

  • • Include the # prefix: /cancel #A1B2C3D4
  • • Check /myasks or /mybids for correct ID

Escrow Trade Issues

"Deposit not detected"

The bot hasn't seen your deposit yet.

Check these:

  • 1. Correct address? Double-check you sent to the escrow address shown
  • 2. Correct amount? Send exact amount (BTC allows ±1000 sats tolerance)
  • 3. Correct asset? Verify asset name and quantity
  • 4. Confirmations? Wait for at least 1 blockchain confirmation
  • 5. Detection interval: Bot checks every 60 seconds

Still not detected after 10 minutes? Contact @SamadhiSpeaks with Trade ID, TXID, and amount sent.

"Escrow stuck at 'funded'"

Both deposits confirmed but release hasn't happened.

The escrow operator needs to manually release funds. They receive reminders at 4 hours and 12 hours. Contact @SamadhiSpeaks if urgent.

"How do I cancel an escrow?"

Cancellation rules depend on deposit status.

Before deposits: Either party can decline
After deposits: Contact @SamadhiSpeaks — refunds require admin action

"Wrong amount sent to escrow"

Contact @SamadhiSpeaks immediately with Trade ID, transaction hash, and correct vs actual amount.

Premium & Token Gating

"Premium status not showing"

Token balance not detected yet.

Solutions:

  • 1. Just purchased? Wait 10-15 minutes for blockchain sync
  • 2. Use verify command: /verify_token TXHASH
  • 3. Check balance on Tokenscan

"Still showing as free user after buying token"

Checklist:

  • • Is COUNTERTRADR in a connected wallet? (/wallet)
  • • Did the dispenser transaction confirm?
  • • Try /start to refresh status
  • • Use /verify_token TXHASH

"Lost premium after transferring token"

Premium requires holding the token.

Transfer COUNTERTRADR back to a connected wallet, or buy more.

"/bulklist says premium required"

Buy COUNTERTRADR from dispensers and ensure it's in a connected wallet.

Bot Not Responding

Bot doesn't reply to commands

Try these:

  • 1. Restart conversation: Send /start
  • 2. Check bot status: Is @countertrader_io_bot online?
  • 3. Telegram issues: Try again in a few minutes
  • 4. Rate limited? If you sent many commands quickly, wait 1 minute

"Sorry, there was an error"

Something went wrong server-side.

Solutions: Try the command again. If persistent, use /bugreport

"Inventory shows 0 assets"

Possible causes:

  • Wrong wallet? Check /wallet
  • Empty wallet? Verify on Tokenscan
  • API issue? Try again later
